Junior Chapter SaDilKa Foundation

Hi All!

This is Sarina and Dilan Gupta, co-Presidents and co-Founders of the Junior Chapter. We would love to give you a little insight into our personal history of medical camps we have attended with our parents. Essentially, we have been actively involved with missions since 2002 and this experience has enriched our lives immensely. We have grown up in an affluent environment replete with every modern luxury. Things that we take for granted in the U.S. like food, water, clothing, shelter, health care, and transportation are commodities beyond the affordability of millions of people in India. Dozens of people packed into cow dung huts, no running water, no electricity, and no health care are part of every day living for many. The education afforded by volunteer work while repeatedly being immersed amongst poor, suffering villagers and watching their lives change by the miracles performed by our parents has not only been an eye-opener for us but a true inspiration as well. It is now our ardent desire to spread the spirit of volunteer work amongst our peers because we have come to realize that every one of us should give back and every one of us can make a difference. To this end, we sincerely believe that an individual who wishes to join a mission but is limited by financial constraints should not be denied the opportunity. Thus was the birth of our junior chapter, which aims to subsidize air fare, room and board for high school, college and post-graduate students interested in participating in medical camps through SaDilKa not just in India but other 3rd world countries as well.

FUNDING FOR STUDENTS:
